Admin - How to set up Carryover

Carryover is the amount of remaining holiday entitlement that can be carried forward into the new year

To set up your carryover balances please follow the steps and screenshots provided below:

1. Go into your Settings
2. Into Calendar & Planner


3. Then go into Event Manager to find the events
4. Click into the Rules for Holiday (Please note that other time off events can also be set to have carryover)


5. You will then see the screen below to either update the existing rule or create new rules.
(You can set different levels of carryover with more rules. E.g. Off site staff have a higher number of carryover so they have a specific rule)


6. As you create or edit a rule you can select who goes into each rule.
E.g. 'Everyone' can be the standard setting and another rule for 'Off Site' which has higher carryover.


7. Once you go 'Next' you can scroll down on the next page to see the shown carryover switch
You will see the 2 carryover fields appear, one for Days and one for Hours.
If all your staff record their holiday in Days for example there is no need to enter a Hours value and vice versa.


Any holiday over the set amount is lost from the account but reports can be easily ran to show the last year's balance and remaining balance before carryover took place. Any unique users who have more carryover for various reason can be updated manually. Alternatively you can set a new rule for them.
