Please ensure the user has a clean and dry finger before starting the registration.
With the device plugged in and powered on:
1. Press the M button
2. Enter the admin username and password
Note: Please reach out to our support team if you are unsure of these credentials
3. Navigate to ‘Users’ with the arrow keys and press the OK button
4. Navigate to ‘Search’ and press OK
6. You can either search the user’s clock ID, or scroll through the names on the clock to find the user in question
7. When you have navigated to the user you wish to register the fingerprint for, press OK
8. This will take you to that user’s information screen
9. On the information screen, navigate to the ‘Register Fingerprint’ option and press OK
10. Place the finger on the scanner, ensuring that the finger is gently pressed on the centre of the glass. Placing the finger too far into the device or pressing too hard will reduce the quality of the fingerprint.
11. Once the fingerprint is registered, press M repeatedly to reset the clock to the original screen
Note: We recommend registering at least 2 fingers from each hand. To do so, simply apply the next finger to the scanner and the screen will reflect that a new finger has been added.
12. The user should then scan their finger 5 times to ensure the fingerprint has been registered successfully. If the success rate is less than 3 out of 5 attempts, please follow the registration process again.
Note: If the white light is not on under the glass, the device will not scan. Please remove and re-add the finger to ensure light is on.
13. Once you are happy that the fingerprint is registered and tested, the template must be deployed to your other devices.
CrossChex – Fingerprint Template Download
This section of the guide is for the IT team deployment.
In CrossChex:
1. Check the box for device that the user’s fingerprints were registered on, no other devices should be selected
2. Select the user from the user list
3. Select download template, this downloads the fingerprint data and saves it in CrossChex
Note: The FP columns should now have a green box, indicating where fingerprint data is present.
4. Once downloaded, select the user again
5. Select Set Privilege and check the box for each device the user should have access to
6. Select OK to begin the distribution to the other device(s)
From here, the registration and distribution process is complete. It is recommended that users test their fingerprint on other devices to ensure their fingerprint allows them to gain access to door controllers and clock devices.
Any users who have issues on other devices should re-register their fingerprints and follow the process again.
Users who repeatedly struggle to register or use the devices can be provided with a clock or fob card.
